Koyo Conservatory held a welcome party for students and educators from TIJEPA. (Taipei International Jazz Education and Promotion Association)

TIJEPA is a non-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting jazz & relevant music education in Taiwan. Established in 2005 by local jazz lovers and senior members of Taipei International Summer Jazz Academy, the Association strives to promote international awareness and appreciation of jazz music and talent with ongoing events and activities reaching a wide demographic audience.
Two educators from TIJEPA, violinist Chi-pin and pianist Kai-ya together with their students, also visited Koyo the previous year to participate in this music exchange.

The Welcome party cum "Mini Live" were held at Koyo's Jazz Club "Maiden Voyage". The two educators who are husband and wife team, kicked off the night with 3 original songs accompanied by Koyo's bass and drum students.

Koyo's very own sextet performed 3 songs, and thereafter the husband and wife team together with the students from both schools, alternately performed to music ranging from Jazz standards to music from Roy Hargrove and Pat Metheny.

During the course of the jam sessions, there were doubts about whether the musicians understood each other with the mixture of Japanese, English and Mandarin languages being used. But when they started performing, all doubts were cleared. Their performances were perfect, based on the grooves they were putting out. It clearly depicts that they clearly understood "the language of music"

We Had A Wonderful Welcome Session
For The Students From Taiwan

バイオリニストであるChi-Pin先生とピアニストであるKaiya先生が組織するTIJEPA(Taipei International Jazz Education and Promotion Associates~台湾におけるジャズ音楽の振興と教育の向上をめざす組織)で学ぶ4人の学生です。
